AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A handwritten document proclaims Texas was to break free of the rule, since Mexico is 175 years.
Wednesday was Independence Day, Texas. It was March 2, 1836, historians believe the original and five copies of the statement and signed.
Only the original. The changes are now in a rare public demonstration of the Archives and Library of Texas at Austin.
Texas became a state in the United States in 1845.
