San Diego State defeats Utah:
Kawhia Leonard and Malcolm Thomas each had a double-double of the number 7 San Diego State beat Utah, 64-50, and the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament Thursday in Las Vegas, where Aztecs win the first season of 30 90 of them - year history.
Leonard scored 13 points and 12 rebounds for his 19th double-double before you sit down in the last seven minutes as a precaution because of a tight back. Thomas scored 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Aztecs.
San Diego State (30-2) had a slow start against seventh-seeded Utes (13-18), but closed the first half 16-3 run and led 30-15 at half-time.
